2008 Fall Conference!
Hello,
and thank you to all of those who attended our 2008 Maine DECA Fall Leadership Conference in Portland, Maine this October. It was a huge success and we had an impressive turn out this year. Students from Lewiston, Oxford Hills, MVR 10, PATHS, and Westbrook all attended totaling almost 100 students! Todd Gehrmann from Focus Training led the students in exercises to teach them about leadership and team building. One of the activities everyone participated in was an exercise where they brainstormed ways to keep DECA members involved, building partnerships with businesses, different community service ideas, and new ways to recruit members. The students were able to come up with long lists of ideas. We would like to share them with you to possibly use at your very own DECA chapter on the page that follows. We hope your chapter came away from the conference with new skills to help expand and strengthen your DECA chapter. If you were unable to attend this year, we hope you get the chance to participate in the Maine State DECA Leadership Conference in the years to come!
Thank you again,
The
